  3. This verse corresponds with Image #3. My husband and I have a solution for this one with a dig scheduled in Sept. I believe this image represents Capt. John Smith who was knighted for his services to the crown. He was stung by a cownose sting ray and nearly died. The area named for this event is Sting Ray Point. The unusual helmet and breast plate seem to support this theory. I've deciphered all the hidden imagery in his arms as a baseball helmet, stick and ball with bells ringing ... ding, ding, ding. (I could actually hear them ring!) There's a baseball on his right shoulder, home plate under his left arm, and the pitchers mound depicted in the bubble below. I had to convince the ball park of my findings and they agreed to let me dig after baseball season. I've written Josh Gates about this find but no response as of yet.

  4. My dig in VA has been pushed back until the end of September. Sadly, most people don't believe in the magic. I'm gonna stick with my inner child and hold onto that tiny ray of hope because I still believe. In the meantime, I'm trying not to drive my poor husband crazy.
