Looks to be African influences from the sapphire,lion and mask and first Africans landed around Virginia area like Jamestown and cape comfort also a region known to grow pears in.
Seems to represent the fairy tail of the lady and the lion. German tale and the german flag is on the symbo,hanging from the bosc pear tree. Florida map on the arch ways looking thing. German auto places in florida by the eagle park and Jewish temple. Maybe an address begins with 2 and ends with 1 for 21.
I believe this is in FL..Tallahassee particularly...lots of clues in the lion's mane and it resembles FL in the middle of the mask...lots of small clues lead me to Tallahassee...
I think we are looking at Charleston. The coastline is in the mask. The ornament resembles Fort Sumter in the harbor with a huge flag pole, tied to the mainland by two ferries. The lady is obviously clad in slave garb which would lead me to the Historical Charleston City Market, an old slave market turned tourist attraction.
This is on Maine. The lions mane represents the link with Maine. Also the white pine branches give it away. The state flower is a white pine cone. I thought it was Detroit at first also. But the only think on this painting that made me think that was how it looks like the state of Michigan in the lions head and the lion. But that would be to obvious. If you live in maine they and link the other clues.
Plus the red white and blue strips with the yellow star seem to look like the Arcadia Canadian Flag. And one of the poems mentioned being under 2 countries. Technically even with main being border by Canada. It is like being in America and Canada at the same time. Hence the being under 2 countries. Hopefully this helps someone.

But Booker.t. washington born in April month. Palm is symbol of victory in white point garden we can able to see war monuments. Beside long palm shadow means. Ancient victory monument in white point garden I.e. beside sergeant jasper monument shadow. IMO.
The clock is pointing at 4 o'clock which us the 4th month... April. April's flower is the daisy. April's stone is the diamond. The baseball diamond specifically home plate.
