For 35 years, readers have tried to discover the locations of Byron's buried keys. It appears that armchair sleuths have successfully narrowed the search to specific cities for most of the remaining paintings, though no one has dug up a key since 2004.

ReplyDeleteThis is just an idea that was on Expedition Unknown a few weeks ago as a 3rd Cache was found last month in Boston which was almost lost forever. The man that found Boston gave some very good clues on trying to find the other Cashe which is the same way he found Boston and the man is a puzzle maker. The man pointed out that you need to put yourself back in the year/time that the Secret was made. The secret was made in 1981 so the writer had no tech like we do when now so all he had was books and local landmark and history. 2nd is that we know that The secret focus on ethnic groups from all over the world, Hench when the 1st Cache was found it was found in Chicago and was linked to the Irish and the gem was a Emerald to which Ireland's nickname is 'Emerald Isle' Now i am not sure if the Emerald is in fact an Irish stone but it was perfect for representing the Irish. 2nd cashe was found in the Greek gardens of Cleveland ohio and was a Aquamarine not sure what that gem had to do with the Greeks but the gems in the cashe are the 12 birthstones of the year. Boston was the Peridot which is linked to Italians and was found in the Italian part of the city. With the 1 that is said to be San Fransisco it makes since since the gem is a pearl which is very much linked to Asia and since San Fran has a large Chinese population makes since. So link the stones to a country and go from there. Just keep it simple and be in the 1981 year mindset.

Painting 12. I get 11 o'clock hence the 11 month; blue topaz the stone, chrysanthemum the flower, the bird is on the Chrysler building in New York. Could this be pointing to Ellis Island?
ReplyDeleteI’d like to suggest this Lady looks like Santa Catalina, CA, USA. They have great surfing, and there are also 4 islands in the water! Also, if you look at the shape of the lady’s dress, it traces out like the CA state line. The bird is some kind of seabird, and there’s a “Kremlin” style blue church, hence the “Santa” part of the name. But I don’t know which verse goes with this pic; I’m not familiar with the area. However, any hints of cliffs, or bluffs in a verse may link up to this image.
ReplyDeletePainting 9 looks very russian to me. The diamond in the center of the hat also hints to Russia as that's where diamonds are most widely mined. The flower looks to be one of Florida's state flowers which makes sense because Sunny Isles Beach florida (also known as "Little Moscow") has a large Russian speaking population. Don't come for me...this is just a theory after the teensy bit of googling I did. Just a thought.
